St. Marys Catholic Elementary
Saint Marys, PA
From SMCES Principal, Deb Slay
Hello! Welcome to Saint Marys Catholic Elementary School. SMCES strives to provide a strong academic education that connects faith and learning within a safe, nurturing environment.
In addition to a core curriculum in language arts, math, science, and social studies, our students receive instruction in music, art, library, technology, and physical education. As a STREAM school, we understand students must spend time practicing new skills in authentic, meaningful situations. Each student is challenged to think, question, and create. To enhance the school day, extended day programs are offered along with an assortment of summer camps.
Additionally, we offer a variety of inclusion services for our students. These services include academic interventions and enrichment, speech and language support, social, behavioral and mental health counseling, and our students’ favorite, Willow, our emotional support dog. To complement these critical services, we are committed to maintaining an intimate class size allowing for more individualized attention for your child.
Most importantly, faith is interwoven in all we do. Our students experience religious retreats, weekly mass, comprehensive sacramental preparation, community service projects, and daily religion classes. We are very excited about our newest supplement to our religion curriculum, the Children’s Catholic Bible. This bible empowers children to read, live, understand, and love the Word of God.
Let our caring staff help your child reach their potential through their critical developmental years at SMCES. We look forward to working alongside you and your family to prepare your child to know and understand God’s world, to serve others, and to fulfill their calling as one of God’s children.
